Cheap pocket pH meter
« on: November 24, 2009, 09:03:12 AM »
I have such a beast which I look after as befits a poor man.
I only use it for hydroponics nutrient solutions between say pH 5 and 9.
I was wondering if plunging it into anything that may be very acidic or basic is likely to do the electrode any harm.
Regards,    Jak

Generally avoid high pH, low pH are not that dangerous. High pH may dissolve the glass.

Thanks, Borek, that makes sense.
Are extremes in pH likely to change the calibration?
