Term Explanation
« on: December 03, 2009, 02:32:14 AM »
Dear All,

We come across various terms regarding some theories, e.g. someone postulates this theory, other one hypothesize other theory and else one propose else theory.

Is there any significance in selective use of these terms, though in english these all connote the same thing.

Regards,

They dont mean exactly the same thing.

A hypothesis is a provisional explanation or theory to be approved or disproved by reference to facts.

A postulation is an explanation or theory which is assumed to be "self-evident".
