Heat it while stirring. Since you said you aren't a chemist, I imagine you do not have a hot plate with magnetic stir bar. Heating it on the stove while stirring should work, but heat slowly.
Glycerol is viscous because it has 3 hydroxyl groups, which allow it to form multiple hydrogen bonds, so it is resistant to "flowing". Heating should disrupt the hydrogen bonding and allow it to be stirred more easily and hopefully give you what you are looking for.
What are you trying to do make antifreeze or soap or something?
