I am currently working on some problems on a worksheet and i was wondering if it was possible to have a net ionic equation of a single replacement reaction, all that we were taught was double replacement rxn's
The problem in questions is
Aluminum reacts with hydrochloric acid
Questions:
Type of rxn: single replacement
Possible: yes
Reactants: Al + HCl
Products: AlCl3 + H2
Ionic Equation: 2Al + 6 H + 6Cl --> 2AlCl3 +3H2
Net ionic 6H --> 3H2
is this how i should go about this problem? and did i do it the right way
