Hi,

Does anyone can help with drawing HONO2(HNO3)?

I keep moving the atoms around but still have some formal charges left.
I'm not sure if I have connect the atoms correctly.

This is what I did for the first step,
         O       H
         |        |
  H-O-N-O-N-O
         |        |
         O       O

Please let me know if my first step is correct, so that I can continue to try to do the double bond step.

Their question is asking to draw HONO2 AKA HNO3.  The brackets simple indicate another way of writing the formula.
