Fischer Projections
« on: February 15, 2010, 06:19:48 PM »
Hello,
I'm studying from Vollhardt's Organic Chemistry book which so far has been exceptional in all of it's explanations. However, I'm hitting problems in the Fischer projection part of the book. I have to convert dashed wedged line structures into Fischer projections. Does anybody know a decent webpage that lays out the steps for these structures?

The thing to remember is that the Fischer projection is an arc coming towards you.

On this page there is a link to a pdf:

On page 2 of the pdf is an example.
My research: Google Scholar and Researchgate

Thank you, I figured out that the answers in the back of the book were different than my answers because it depends on your point of view. They should probably mention that in the answer section, but I guess next time I'll read a little more closely.
                                  Thanks again!
