Wittig Reaction

When doing the Wittig Reaction, I cannot determine what I have made.  I started with a rather interesting molecule which I never actually figured the name to -- though it is a Phosporus (with a positive charge) with three benzene rings off of it and a toluene group as well (with a negatively charge chlorine)...I know it is a Ylide, but couldn't determine the name (what I came up with was benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride, but wasn't sure of myself).  Anyway, I reacted that with CH3ONa and then reacted that with a benzene ring with a butaldehyde and cannot figure out what my product is. Can anybody help?

You added a ylide with ketone using a base, there is only one thing that can happen. Check out the name reactions section and if you need more help let us know.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.

To be precise, your starting phosphorus compound was not an ylide, you formed the ylide when you deprotonated with sodium methoxide.

adding to what mitch and movies said, you'll also want to consider the stereochemistry
