Colourimetry
« on: March 17, 2010, 11:59:32 PM »
Fe^3+ + SCN^- --> FeSCN^2+

I have the molarity of Fe 3+ and SCN - but I need to find the concentrations of FeSCN 2+

Can I add the two concentrations together and then divide it by the total volume that I used to get the conc of FeSCN2+?

If this helps for the second test tube it had 10ml of Fe3+, 2ml SCN- and 13ml HNO3

This is a standard experiment and it was discussed on many occasions, so you should be able to find something on the forums.

Information you gave is incomplete - volumes don't matter much without concentrations.
