As a standard for organic chemistry i advice the Staff to add the official site of IUPAC[international union of pure and applied chemistry] in the useful links. Here it is

http://iupac.org/dhtml_home.html

I will never add IUPAC to this website. Period

Their gross misnaming of element 105, and holding all American discovered element names hostage in order to have element 106 named Seaborgium is not forgotten. Perhaps if the naming committees were actual nuclear scientists and not political appointees with their own agendas and thoughts of international altruism, perhaps then they will have a link on this website.

Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Wow!  I haven't heard this story.  Can you elaborate some more on how this went down, Mitch?
