Ionic Equations
« on: April 17, 2010, 08:57:53 PM »
Hi, when you are given an equation to balance and you are told to "balance the following equation," how would you know if you have to just balance the equation ALONE, or if you have to balance it like an ionic equation (inserting state symbols, etc..). Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Ask your teacher. I had a teacher who was picky about it and based on the question you had to decide what to do, later in AP chem, it was standard to have everything.
