Question about electrophoresis
« on: May 04, 2010, 10:45:23 PM »
Here is the problem I am having trouble on...

At what pH value would you carry out an electrophoresis experiment if you want to separate a mixture of Arginine (pI = 10.76), Glutamic acid (pI = 3.22), and leucine (pI = 5.98). Briefly explain, with drawing, as to which direction (or electrode) each amino acid will migrate at the pH value you have selected for your electrophoresis separation

If you learn what the pI is it'll help tremendously.
