Sodium hydroxide + Askorbinsyre

Can anyone help me on what the result of the following will be?

Sodium hydroxide + Askorbinsyre

NaOH + C6H8O6 = ?

Ascorbic acid (Dutch Danish- Askorbinsyre) ia a dibasic acid and can form two type of salts with NaOH
NaOH + C6H8O6 = NaC6H7O6 + H2O
or
2NaOH + C6H8O6 = Na2C6H6O6 + 2H2O

I think it's Danish, rather than Dutch, but this does not affect the answer ;)

Ah Danish, I guessed Swedish. Dutch would be ascorbinezuur.
