This is a very basic question, but I am looking for ideas for a low-temp burning, non-toxic liquid or gel that will burn a very visible color such as yellow. I'm also looking for an additional substance or salve that will act as an insulator against the fire. I need be able to spread the insulator easily, and not to have to use very much of it per square inch. Any thoughts?
