What kind of redox reaction occurs in a solar cell?

I need to know the name of the redox reaction, the equation for the reaction and the oxidation states of the reactant and products for solar cells.

How about the following as an introduction to the chemistry and physics of solar cells?

Then: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/diode.htm

I'm not sure that talking or writign about "reactant" and "product" is meaningful in this setup. Sure there is a flow of electrons but it is through both materials, continuously as long as light is applied
