"Physical Chemistry of Surfaces" by Adamson
« on: June 01, 2010, 08:21:00 PM »
My professor recommended this text for my surface science course. I have heard mixed reviews about its use as a textbook, but the general consensus is that it is a good reference. The book is currently in its 6th edition. I was wondering, has anybody compared previous editions to the current one? Some texts seem to get worse the more they get revised. Also, the previous editions can be purchased for significantly less. Does anybody have experience with this book or have suggestions as to which edition is the best? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also interested in getting a book on surfaces, but I suggest you follow the advice of your professor.
