I know we can prepare hydrotalcite from the reaction of magnesium nitrate hexahydrate + aluminium nitrate nonahydrate + NaOH + Sodium carbonate
If I were to exchange magnesium nitrate to calcium nitrate tetrahydrate, would I yield something like hydrotalcite but in exchange of Mg to Ca? The formula of hydrotalcite is: Mg6Al2(CO3)(OH)16•4(H2O)
This is a catalyst I'm trying to prepare for the methanolysis reaction of oil into biodiesel.
Thanks =)
