I am using tartaric acid for resolution purpose but i got confuse with types of tartaric acid
are there 4 types of tartaric acid available ?
1)L(+)Tartaric acid
2)L(-)Tartaric acid
3)D(+)Tartaric acid
4)D(-)Tartaric acid

Tartaric acid exist in the following forms:
L
(+),
D
(-), meso, and racemic (
DL
).

Assuming that you know how to assign R and S given the Fischer projections, use the Fischer projection formulae in the following link to name them

...the most common tartaric used for resolution is l-(+) tartaric acid....it's also the most common tartaric that is sold, the others are available but expensive...java
