When a bromine atom replaces a hydrogen atom on the pNitrophenol molecule, on which position would it be attached: next to the hydroxyl group or next to the nitro group. Explain your reasoning...

I'll give you a way to figure it out, since I didn't read the question that closely.

When you dealing with substitions on benzene, figuring out where a substituent will add is generally found by looking at the stability of the intermediate.

So figure out where the groups might add, and draw both intermediates.

Which is more stable?
