Help with HW question
« on: July 17, 2010, 12:07:02 PM »
Could someone show me how to do a problem like this?

What volume of ethylene glycol (HOCH2 CH2 OH) must be added to 125mL of water to provide a solution with a boiling point of 101.0 degrees C?

Since you didn't show anything, I'll give you something very general. Colligative properties.

A further hint will be the increased boiling point is proportional to the molality of the solute.

I was looking more how to solve the math problem. Like which formulas to use and how would I go about setting the problem up. Can anyone help me with that?

Google : Boiling-point elevation
