Solvent for aldehyde reaction with amine
« on: August 05, 2010, 10:00:38 PM »
Hi,

I plan to use trimethoxysilyl alkyl aldehyde to react with amine terminated polymer.
But I want to do the reaction in organic solvents instead of water.
Do you guys know what solvents I can use?

thanks

chloroform is good, methanol, toluene, you can make imines in almost anything organic.

Personally I would use Methanol or Ethanol.
