Adsorbent performance depends on temperature of the stream and presence of other components which can potentially compete with the target compounds for the same adsorption sites. Water steam is one of them.
Also adsorbent capacity can be a limiting factor. Charcoal takes up to 30% by wt, Silica gel up to 15%, alumina and zeolites up to 2-5%.
If you need to recover mycene from the adsorbent it might create another technical problem.
If mycene concentration in steam is high (>1%) you might consider condensation instead.
