stoichiometry
« on: September 23, 2010, 06:20:32 PM »
H2SO4(aq) + NaOH(aq)  Na2SO4(aq) + H2O(l)
Consider the unbalanced equation above. What is the maximum mass of Na2SO4 that can be produced when 75.5 mL of 0.270 M sulfuric acid and 77.0 mL of 0.170 M NaOH react?
could someone please give me some help on what steps to solve this?

How about balancing the equation first?

already got that step homeboy
H2SO4(aq) + 2NaOH(aq)  Na2SO4(aq) + 2H2O(l)
i keep doing the next part wrong here is what i did:
.075Lx.270=.02025
.077Lx.170=.01309
Next WOG to see which is limiting
then i put the .02025 over 1/1 which stays the same
then i put the .01309 over 1/2 and got .006545
then multiply that by the 124.075 MM Na2SO4/1mol =.812
i then submitted that and that is wrong. not sure what im doing wrong?
