enthalpy question
« on: September 27, 2010, 07:25:24 PM »
For the acid base question.
Q. 50 g of 1.0M HCL containing 0.050 mol hcl and 50 g of 1.0M NaOH containing 0.050 mol base
and you mix these two together assume it takes 4.18 j of energy to increase temp of of solution=specific heat
the heat q of rxn is hcl+naoh-->h20+nacl ignore specific heat of cup.
The temp increases by 6.5 degrees Celsius.

we don't have the mass of solution(water) how can we find it

interesting question copied from other user.

You add 50g to 50g and you don't know how much you got?
