Heat Capacity - need answer
« on: October 05, 2010, 08:55:27 PM »
Here is the question:

A 15 L sample of steam at 120C (and standard pressure) is injected into 250 mL of water at 10C.  If the final mixed temperature is 30C, calculate the molar heat of vaporization of water.

I know you have to determine the mol of steam that went in using PV=nRT

I know the amount of heart absorbed by the colder water....

But I'm not getting the right answer! Help?!

Thanks!
