I think I messed up some data in my lab. What happens when sugar is mixed with alcohol, and what happens if sugar is mixed with vinegar?
Also, I'm having trouble deciding what the "unknown" substance is. (a mix of 2 or 3 of these: Sugar, Flour, Salt, Baking Soda. Also, our reageants are alcohol, iodine, vinegar.)
When I reacted the unknown with alcohol, nothing happened (no gas, color change) and it did not dissolve.
When I reacted the unknown with iodine it turned black. Flour?
When I reacted the unknown with vinegar, there was lots of fizzing and I think heat was absorbed. Baking soda?
Under the microscope, I found out that there were a few cube-shaped particles in my sample. could that be salt?
if you need more info, tell me.
