It's an ester.  One "one-side" of the carboxyl group you have the ethyl part.  On the other you have the 3- methyl hydroxybenzoate part.

-OATE suffix denotes an ester.

How many esters can you draw that have just one benzene position substituted with a "methyl hydroxy" group? Can hydroxy have two covalent bonds to it? Can methyl?
