combining hydrogen and oxygen
« on: January 02, 2011, 05:30:17 PM »
I am not a chemist, I`ve been looking all over internet and couldnt find an answer to my question, so your help would be much appeciated.
Here is my question. How much energy is relesed when combining hydrogen and oxygen. I am tring to get a simple answer.
Something like: The x amount in gramms, liters (anything resonably very simple to work with not mols) of hydrogen, creates y amout of heat therefore y amount energy in juoles, calories(again please some very simple unit) when combined with oxygen
As I said it would be much apprecieted.
Thank you

Google hydrogen combustion enthalpy. 1 mole of hydrogen is 2g.
