Carbocation stability
« on: January 25, 2011, 12:26:57 PM »

Which letter represents the most stable position for a carbocation to for?  Explain your
choice.

I am pretty sure the most stable carbocation in this structure is at letter b.  This is because it is further in the interior of the structure,  giving a greater stability.  Is this correct?

I think your answer is right, the most stable carbocation is b beacause it is tertiary carbocation
it is well known the the order of carbocation stability is 3o > 2o >1o
