NaOCl phosphate buffered!
« on: September 06, 2005, 11:59:37 AM »
Hi

I need to prepare  NaOCl in phosphate buffer 0.59M pH11

I'm a bit clueless as I've had no experience with buffer solutions before

can anyone help, point me in the right direction?

thanks :)

You need  Henderson-Hasselbalch equation. Calculate ratio of acid and conjugate form, mix them to obtain proper pH, add NaOCl, dilute to obtain correct concentrations.

CASC can be helpfull, although it will not help in a buffer calculation - this part you have to do by yourself.
