Acids
« on: September 07, 2005, 06:03:37 AM »
1. Are all arrhenius acid/baces bronsted acids/bases?
2. Are all lewis base bronsted bases and vice-versa?

I thought 1. yes
2. Yes aswell as its only talking about bases and an electron pair donator should accept protons.

Whats the correct answers?
Thanks
Jubba

p.s note that question 2 is only talking about bases not acids.

2. is wrong. Lewis bases are of course able to accept protons then they are also Bronsted bases. But if they accept something else like BF3 then they aren't.
