The boss asked me to order him some calcium acetate hemihydrate. Anybody know where to find this? I can find the monohydrate and the "hydrate" (listed as Ca(CH3COO)2* xH2O) from Fisher/Aldrich. A simple google search really doesn't bring up much of anything.
My guess is there's a synonym that everyone else uses but I'm not aware of. Any help?

Yeah I figured out the hemihydrate meant 1/2 H2O, but I've still been stuck on where to order it. That's why I was curious if the hydrate ( the . x H2O)  was maybe a synonym. I can't even find it in reagents books. Hmmm.

I guess x means "actual composition not exactly known". My handbook (printed and edited in Poland) lists anhydrous and monohydrate, no hemihydrate, so could be x means some mixture of both.

Calcium acetate anhydrous which is sold in the market is actually a hemihydrate product. It generallycontains 7% water. Please check.
