Molar volume question in chemistry help needed!
« on: February 25, 2011, 06:56:36 PM »
A 4.5 g mixture of potassium chlorate and potassium chloride were heated and liberated 200 ml of oxygen. The gas was collected over water at 22 C (Pwater = 20 mmHg). The total barometric pressure was 770 mmHg. What percentage of pure potassium chlorate was contained in the 4.5 g mixture? Thanks so much!

At least you can use pV = nRT. Pressure values have to converted to SI units.

U need the chemical equation. From Chlorate to Chloride by loosung Oxygen.
