Help finding % in compounds
« on: February 26, 2011, 04:20:14 PM »
Here is the question

Write equations to explain the analytical method used to determine the %V and
% oxalate in ammonium vanadyl(IV) oxalate.

I am not sure what they mean by finding % of each. We did two titrations on the same solution so I assume the first was for the oxalate and the second was for the vanadium but I don't know what they mean by finding the %.

Let say you have 1 g of this compound. The question is how much g of Vanadium and also how much g of Oxalate is containing. m(V)/m(compound) *100% is the value what they looking for. The same for Oxalate.
