Hey guys and gals,

So I just finished Chem 1 and want to thank you all for your help. Now im taking chem 2, and the teacher I have makes his test short answer style with no multiple choice. So I want to know what exactly is a colloid in laymans term.

Colloids are special type of mixtures, where one phase is finely dispersed in the other (continuous) phase. The dispersion is so fine that dispersed phase cannot be easily filtered out.
