There is no net reaction though. It simply dissolves.

BnMe₃N⁺ + ^-OH + H₂O

BnMe₃N⁺ + H₂O + ^-OH

Remove spectators and there's nothing left.

I agree with that. But similarly:

Na⁺ + ^-OH + H₂O

Na⁺+ H₂O + ^-OH

No net reaction with sodium hydroxide either.
