What mass of AgI can be produced from a 0.512g sample that assays 20.1% ALI3?
I'm confused!
i just find the answer in the web..HERE IT IS..
20.1% ALI3 = 20.1g ALI3 / 100g sample (should be written as AlI3, but it's hard to tell what I mean)
(0.512 g sample) (20.1 g ALI3/100 g sample)(1 mol ALI3 / 407.695 g ALI3)(3 mol I /1 mol ALI3)(1 mol AgI / 1 mol I)( 234.773 g AgI / 1 mol AgI) = 0.177787 g
Answer: 0.177787 g AgI
---BUT, the answer in our book is 0.778g AgI
Why? what's wrong in that process..
