Predicting the IR and Raman bands of a molecule
« on: July 27, 2011, 04:28:17 PM »
1) Determine the symmetry of the carbonyl stretching of the complex Ni(CO)4 and determine how many and which vibrations are IR and Raman active, respectively.

2) Determine the symmetry of the S-F stretching of the molecule SF6 and determine how many and which vibrations are IR and Raman active, respectively.

(given all the steps, no references to books, please!)
