Imagine a six by nine room...
« on: August 02, 2011, 09:08:39 AM »
As part of a writing project I am in need of your superior minds.

Imagine a sealed six by nine room.
Roughly what quantity of the following would you need in order to fill it with a lethal quantity of either:

1) Carbon Monoxide (from Calcium Carbonate + Zinc, lethal at ~1600ppm) OR
2) Hydrogen Chloride (from Sulfuric Acid + Sodium Chloride, lethal at ~1-2000ppm)?

Approximations, wild guesses and 'http://lmgtfy.com/?q=lethal+concentration+MO+HCl' more than welcome, but this is a serious and hypothetical enquiry.

Thanks very much for any assistance.

Just out of curiosity, are you trying to kill someone? :P :P

Nope - just trying to write convincing details and don't want a character to have to lug a sack of salt around with them!
