pH in the lake
« on: August 21, 2011, 02:15:09 PM »
Hello!
Help me please :'( ???
Present a lake as cylinder with the area of basis of 1,20 km2 and in 210 meters high. Take into account, that the bottom of lake is formed a ferum(II) carbonate and carbon dioxide enters into lake at dissolution of FeCO3. It is also known that water of epiphase of lake (50 meters) is unmixed with understrata; a temperature on a depth from 50 to 180 meters is approximately evened 23°c.
Calculate pH at the level of 50 and 180 meters. Such information is also known:
K1(H2CO3)=3.57*10-7
K2(H2CO3)=4.40*10-11
KS(FeCO3)=5.91*10-11
Kd(H2CO3)=0.0015
