Quick question about polarity

Sorry if my expressions are wrong. I want to know:

In alcohols, let's say ethanol

CH3-CH2-OH

The H atom connected to the O atom has a stronger (more polar) bond then the H atoms connected to C atoms, so why does this formula go like this?

2CH3-CH2-OH + 2Na -> 2CH3-CH2-ONa +H2

Please be easy to understand and straightforward.

Am I somehow wrong, that more polar bonds are stronger?

If a small piece of sodium is dropped into some ethanol, it reacts steadily to give off bubbles of hydrogen gas and leaves a colourless solution of sodium ethoxide, CH3CH2ONa. Sodium ethoxide is known as an alkoxide.

If the solution is evaporated carefully to dryness, the sodium ethoxide is left as a white solid.

2 C2H5OH + 2 Na → 2 C2H5ONa + H2

Although at first sight you might think this was something new and complicated, in fact it is exactly the same (apart from being a more gentle reaction) as the reaction between sodium and water - something you have probably known about for years.

Compare the two:

We normally, of course, write the sodium hydroxide formed as NaOH rather than HONa - but that's the only difference.

Sodium ethoxide is just like sodium hydroxide, except that the hydrogen has been replaced by an ethyl group. Sodium hydroxide contains OH- ions; sodium ethoxide contains CH3CH2O- ions.

Coming to the polarity part, polar bond is a type of covalent bond between two atoms or more in which electrons are shared unequally. Polarity arises due to the difference in electronegativity, in this case Oxygen being highly electronegative, therefore the electrons in the bond can be viewed as slightly inclined to the Oxygen atom(creating a partial -ve charge on it) making the H- attached to Oxygen easier to leave.
