i don't get it-why toluene burns with steaming flame?

is it because this arene(well,all of them) contains a lot of carbon pieces?

Not sure what a "steaming flame" is, but most arenes burn with a sooty yellow flame due to the high C to H ratio.

Ethylene burns with a bright blue flame, if anyone's interested.
