Desilylation using potassium carbonate and MeOH
« on: November 29, 2011, 07:30:59 PM »
I just have a quick question. I have been using this experimental method multiple times in my experiments which is the removal of trimethylsilane group (from a TMS acetylene containing compound) to obtain the terminal alkyne using K2CO3 in Methanol. My question is: what are the mechanistic steps of this desilylation process? Any input would be appreciated.
