Calorimetry question, can't figure it out!
« on: November 30, 2011, 09:37:23 PM »
I can't figure out this calorimetry stuff to save my life.  Can someone help me out?

Given the exothermic salt CaCl2, how can I figure out heat released and delta H (kJ/mol) based on the given 1.19 delta T/g value and s = 4.184J/g and q=msAT where m is 101g???  I am so lost.

Please... if anyone could help me out, that would be awesome!

The heat released is the q in your equation. It seems you already have everything you need to calculate q. Can you work it out?
In order to calculate the delta H, you need to know how much calcium chloride there is. Perhaps you are given a mass or number of moles?
