Would this perhaps be something that is browser dependent, or do you mean the spell-check in additional options? If the latter, can we integrate Azmanam's dictionary somehow?

ethane ethene ethyne
I am sorry the ethane passes not the  ethene ethyne

I am talking about the spell check at the bottom of the post reply box

It could be browser dependent - I did not think of that

can someone else test  ethene and ethyne
recollecting the most common spelling is ethylene Acetylene which does pass spell check

it seems that all of the
ane the spelling is OK but  ene yne  for the double and triple bond the spelling fails

Looks like spell check that is invoked by pressing the Spell Check button doesn't know some chemical names (and while I am not 100% sure, seems to me like it is server side, not client side).

Honestly, with a spell checker built into the browser and marking incorrectly spelled words while I type, I don't remember ever using Spell Check button.
