Titration Help (2,4-D)

Okay trying to do a practice titration question but apparently I am writing the equation wrong.

Here's the question:
Calculate the expected amount of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (C8H6Cl2O3) that will neutralize 10.00mL of 0.05 NaOH.

I came up with the reaction:
C8H6Cl2O3 + NaOh --> NaC6H4Cl2O + H20

What is wrong about my equation besides the point that it is not balanced??
Help would be greatly appreciated.

What's wrong is that it does not make sense because you have just made it up.

How does a base react with an acid and what are the products?

How many acid groups are in the 2,4-D?

Adding to what DrCMS, you first DO need to find how many H+ equivalents are in the 2,4-D.  Hint: it's an acetic acid derivative...

You've made a very common beginners mistake in designing your reaction.  Look at this diagram of the molecule in question.  Can you see why your neutralization reaction might be wrong?
