Using the HOMO/LUMO concept how can you explain the location of attack of the proton (considering the shape of the HOMO and LUMO?)

So what are the shapes of the HOMO and LUMO? What is the proton looking for when it adds to acetone? Where in the space around the acetone molecule will the proton find whatever it is looking for?
