Cheap places to get supplies

Trying to get setup without paying to much, really can't believe how much all this stuff costs.

Can you reccomend some good places to get stuff cheap? Onlinesciencemall.com seems pretty good, but some stuff (heating mantles, hotplates, ect) are very expensive.

hang around your local university.  leaving profs will often have a bunch of supplies listed as surplus hanging around outside their lab.  good luck getting something valuble.
