Relationship between density and mass concentration

Hi
i was just thinking of a relationship between the mass concentration of a solution of a solid solute(in water) and the density of the solution
I came up with this:
mass Concentration(g/L)=Mass of solute/Volume of Solution.
If the solute dissolves with little or no volume change, volume of solution=Volume of water used to dissolve the solute

Let Mass of solute=Ms
Volume of Solution=Vw
Mass of Water used in dissolving the solute=Mw
density of solution=d
Mass concentration(g/ml)=c=Ms/Vw
Mass concentration(g/L)=C
d=(Ms+Mw)/Vw
density of water=Mw/Vw=1
Ms/Vw=c
hence d=c+1
c=d-1
thus in g/L,
C=1000(d-1)

is this correct? Any suggestions, modifications, or is it just plain wrong?

Why not test your hypothesis yourself? Make up some known concentrations and measure the densities. Compare results with your theory.
