Draw the lewis structure of a molecule of an isomer.

The question asks: Draw the lewis structure of a molecule of an isomer.

Definition of an isomer(s): Different substances that have the same formula...

So does that mean just draw a resonance structure of something like NO3-? Yeah...just wondering

Nope, there is a difference between a resonance structure and an isomer.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.

So what would be an example of an isomer?

There are loads of molecules that have isomers. For example propanol, C3H8O.

Propanol has isomers, 1-propanol (propan-1-ol) and 2-propanol (propan-2-ol) it also has methyl ethyl ether (if you are feeling adventurous ;)

All of these molecules have the same atoms in them C3H8O. However the atoms are just arranged differently.

Good luck :)

Another example of an isomer is Glucose and Fructose. The double bonded O is just moved 1 carbon over and this changes the way the molecule forms a ring.

Draw Glucose and Fructose in a linear structure. Then try drawing it in a ring given you know how to do this. This may help you understand isomers or atleast one aspect of them.
