Music you listen to

So, what do you listen to? The Beatles? Nine Inch Nails? Bach? Amy Winehouse?

I like guitars. Especially acoustic. I love those two:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/PT9hvyDvKHA?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/PT9hvyDvKHA?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

But lately I was listening mostly to Polish group Beltaine, I loved their concert I attended on March 17th:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/udfB4svdOII?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/udfB4svdOII?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

Doesn't mean I am limited to these, but you have to start somewhere :)

Use this format to post your favorites:

Ahhh, Rodrigo and Gabriela are amazing - I heard about them through their excellent cover of Metallica's Orion.

I also like a bit of flamenco and gypsy jazz, but I don't know much about it. Borek, check out Juan Martin (if you're not already aware of him).

Not at his fastest, but this is a lovely piece, watch it to the end because the last section will have your jaw on the floor:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/irMld8whPbI?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/irMld8whPbI?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

I enjoy quite a range of music, classical, jazz, minimal techno, prog rock, but my music collection is probably 80% heavy metal. I'm mostly into technical death metal with plenty of jazz/classical influence. Here's a track with a nice jazz guitar intro by one of my favourite bands: Spawn of Possession

No, I didn't know Juan Martin, but yes, I will definitely check.

Last year Junior pointed me to Ewan Dobson:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/eXqPYte8tvc?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/eXqPYte8tvc?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

and while browsing other artists from the same label I found Dufour:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZNzIuKZP_Bk?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/ZNzIuKZP_Bk?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

Somehow that started a talk about a guitar playing techniques (I don't remember with whom or where) and I was pointed to the Chapman stick:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/RCXjEIQANes?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/RCXjEIQANes?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

When it comes to heavy metal... Well, AC/DC played an important role in my life in the late seventies, about a year ago I went to their concert in Warsaw. I have listened to Metallica a lot around 2000. But I have a problem with most vocals, I don't like the manner of the forced crying. It makes me think about constipation :p

It is [flаsh=480,360]http://www.youtube.com/v/8R6lEytvMLo?version=3&amp;hl=en_US[/flаsh]

You may like this then:

(note: I can't find on youtube best version of Asphalt tango I know, this just gives some idea).

And - on similar note - from one of my favorite movies:

The new Squarepusher album sounds really nice:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/8KX3Sb6-WIY?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/8KX3Sb6-WIY?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

I love this song - it's hilariously dissonant, but so amazing:
